20rds – 7mm PRC Federal 195gr. Elite Hunter Ammo

Federal Ammunition 195 Grain Hollow-Point Boat Tail (HP-BT) Ammo Details

Your 7mm Precision Rifle Cartridge rifle needs just two things to live up to its promise: you, and precision rifle cartridges. You’ve already got all the you that you could possibly need. Now you just need Federal Premium’s superlative ammo.

Federal got Berger to provide this round’s 195 grain bullet. It’s the Elite Hunter: an aptly named combination of consistent lead core, hyper-concentric J4 Precision jacket, and drag-minimizing boat tail. The Elite Hunter also features the Hybrid Ogive that Berger made famous. It marries a secant and tangent ogive together, thus granting the bullet peak ballistic efficiency (0.755 G1/0.387 G7 BC) and minimal sensitivity to seating depth. You and your rifle largely determine a bullet’s accuracy. But if you’ve got the skill and the hardware, the Elite Hunter won’t disappoint.

It won’t be gentle to your target, either. Once the Elite Hunter has burrowed to a depth or 2 to 3”, it initiates terminal expansion mode. Wound cavity is massive; up to 15”, under optimal conditions. If that can’t take down an elk, then we don’t want to meet that particular elk in person.
