The Elite Hunter is Berger’s fine work. It is unique for combining tangent and secant profiles into what Berger has dubbed a “Hybrid” profile. Optimal alignment with the bore. Optimal aerodynamic efficiency. Minimal sensitivity to wind drift. The 195 grain 0.387 G7 BC projectile owes all these strengths to its J4 Precision jacket, which is also drawn so concentrically that it’s not too great a stretch to describe it as flawless. Its excellent rotational stability also contributes to the Elite Hunter’s ability to force 1,000 ft lbs of energy to 1,420 yards (assuming it departed a 24” barrel).

The Elite Hunter doesn’t begin expanding the instant it hits. It tunnels up to 3” deep first, and then releases highly energetic mushrooming. The Elite Hunter may have a thin, match-grade jacket, but it still reliably manages up to 15” of penetration before ending its run.
