Red Army Standard 122 Grain Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) Ammo Details
Earth’s creator saw fit to put very little copper in the planet’s crust. Fortunately, we have an abundance of iron from which to make steel for affordable shell casings. This 7.62x39 cartridge by Red Army Standard, which is manufactured at Russia's Tula Cartridge Plant, features just such a casing, so it’s a wallet-friendly choice for range training and general faffing around with an AK-47 or SKS. A steel casing’s primary drawback is arguably that it is not reloadable, but Red Army Standard did apply a glossy polymer coating to it that facilitates efficient cycling in a semi-auto.This round’s 122 grain bullet is a fine choice for recreational shooting. Its pointed meplat is aerodynamic, and its gilding metal jacket promotes unproblematic feeding in a semi-auto as well as a cleaner bore by the end of a shooting session. This round’s non-corrosive Berdan primer won’t bathe your action in mercury once ignited, and its consistent propellant charge yields a stable muzzle velocity.
