Hornady Ammunition 143 Grain ELD-X Ammo Details

This 6.5 PRC cartridge from Hornady’s Precision Hunter line of ammunition sports a 143 grain ELD-X projectile. This bullet’s Heat Shield tip not only streamlines its entire profile, but is also resistant to heat so that the friction of air resistance will not deform it in flight, even as it exits a rifle’s muzzle at a velocity of 2,960 fps. The bullet’s aerodynamics are further improved both by its nearly perfectly concentric AMP jacket and its boat tail design.

The ELD-X is designed to deliver devastating terminal performance over a range of velocities. At distances shorter than 400 yards, its patented InterLock ring and thick jacket shank hold it together to provide up to 60 percent weight retention. At greater distances, its tip initiates violent yet controlled expansion while the bullet retains up to 90 percent of its weight. Along with its reloadable brass casing and powder load measured to deliver consistent chamber pressures, this is an excellent round to count on whether you would take game from up close or afar.
