20rds – 50 Beowulf Alexander Arms 300gr. FTX Ammo

Alexander Arms 300 Grain Flex Tip (FTX) Ammo Details

Going hunting for thick-skinned hogs, or where bucks may be shielded by heavy vegetation? Then the indisputable power of the 50 Beowulf is set to be your best friend. This cartridge by Alexander Arms, the caliber’s inventor, is furthermore outfitted with one of the best hunting bullets on the market: Hornady’s FTX.

This round’s 300 grain projectile features a pliant polymer tip that extends down into its tough, high antimony lead core. It reliably drives inward upon impact, even at lower velocities, to initiate wide expansion and a lethal transfer of energy. The FTX’s thick copper jacket extends into the core via Hornady’s InterLock ring, ensuring that the two remain fixed together to preserve the momentum requisite for deep penetration. This bullet’s notched jacket promotes more uniform expansion, and its cannelure prevents setback that could impact accuracy as well.

This cartridge’s straight-walled brass shell casing is straight from its factory, with uniform dimensions to promote unerring feeding from a magazine and the strength it needs to serve as a handloading component several times. Alexander Arms’ Boxer primer and propellant both ignite reliably, and without producing caustic residues that could harm a valuable rifle.

These feed well through my rifle... I bought some new optics and used these 300gr FTX’s to zero it in... a 1.5” group at 100 yards is much better than I expected... these hogs in East TX have a surprise waiting for them!
