Did you think Hornady’s legendary eXtreme Terminal Performance (XTP) jacketed hollow point is only useful for defense? Then you must have been misinformed! It is also excellent for hunting when it is perched atop a cartridge as potent as the 460 S&W Magnum!

The XTP is an accurate bullet, with a concentric copper jacket and swaged lead core that grant it the balance requisite for match and precision shooting (0.160 G1 BC). Its tapered jacket and serrated nose are both fine-tuned to assure reliably wide terminal expansion. That same jacket also protects the nose cavity from damage on impact, and is girdled by a cannelure to preserve seating depth under heavy recoil (e.g. the very same type of recoil the 460 Mag treats its handler to).

Underwood loads low-flash propellant. It’s typically featured in self-defense ammo, as most defensive shootings play out in the dark (where bright flash is blinding). It’s also a great help while you’re hunting after the sun has gone to bed.

Those aren’t steel cases! They are brass, with nickel plating that serves a couple of helpful functions: corrosion resistance (handy if you hunt where water is present, e.g. Planet Earth), and reduced friction (to facilitate feeding and ejection from a cylinder, or cycling through a lever action).
