This round’s bullet doesn’t look anything like what the 45 Colt would have been loaded with in the 19th century, though. This ammo’s cases aren’t plated with nickel for cosmetic purposes. Nickel protects brass against corrosion during exposure to humidity and the chemicals used to tan leather (such as that which your holster might be made of). Nickel additionally reduces friction, which can help you a great deal while you’re trying to empty out your cylinder in a hurry.
