20rds - 45 ACP Hornady XTP 200gr. HP Ammo Details

This Hornady Custom ammo features Hornady’s high performance XTP is one of the most accurate pistol bullets ever made. XTP stands for eXtreme Terminal Performance and these high-quality, innovative projectiles consistently live up to their name. Specifically engineered to reliably expand at a wide range of handgun velocities, XTP jacketed hollow points deliver deep penetration with every shot.

A varying jacket thickness that runs the length of the bullet controls terminal expansion, providing a major advantage over standard bullets with uniform plating. Symmetrical serrations strategically weaken the jacket, ensuring expansion at low velocities. The XTP also features a swaged core, providing uniform density to optimize balance and provide stability in flight, making this patented projectile one of the most accurate pistol bullets ever designed.

This factory fresh .45 ACP (Auto) ammunition is 100 percent non-corrosive, boxer primed, brass cased, and fully reloadable. Each round produces a consistent muzzle velocity of 900 feet per second and 360 foot pounds of muzzle energy. All Hornady Custom ammunition is factory built to tight tolerances and hand inspected before leaving the factory, delivering precision and performance to rival even the best hand loads. This ammo comes packed in 20-round boxes.

I bought a box a while back to try this out as far as performance. I shoot a standard Springfield G.I. Spec. model, 5 inch barrel. I shot this ammo into wet phone books, through auto glass, a portion of a wooden door and through a combination of auto glass and wet phone books and at a target out to 100 yards. Performance wise, at close range, this ammo has a penetration of 10 inches (average median) in wet phone books. The expansion at 15 yards wasn
