Grizzly Cartridge Company has loaded excellent 44 Magnum ammo for hunting whitetail, boar and other medium game. But if you had to square off against a nefarious black bear, then you’d be glad to have this ammo ready in your revolver’s chambers.This Oregon-made round is loaded with a 300 grain hard cast wide flat nose gas check projectile. The bullet’s 1,400 fps muzzle velocity is not the product of a hotter-than-standard propellant charge. Its gas check simply prohibits propellant gasses from escaping by forming a close seal against the barrel, which promotes altogether more efficient ignition.
As a hard cast, this round’s bullet is far too … well, hard to deform significantly as it pierces hide, muscle and bone. That helps it reliably penetrate to a depth where it can touch the animal’s heart or other vital organ. The bullet’s wide flat nose profile punches out a … well, wide wound channel. No terminal expansion needed to achieve quick and deadly results!
This standard pressure ammo should function correctly in any 44 Mag revolver or lever gun. Premium reloadable brass cases are always a welcome plus!
