20rds – 44 Mag Buffalo Bore Heavy 305gr. Hard Cast LFN Ammo

20rds – 44 Mag Buffalo Bore Heavy 305gr. Hard Cast LFN Ammo Details

Here we have 44 Magnum ammo by Buffalo Bore which is so powerful that it comes with certain caveats. First, only load this ammo in a steel revolver or rifle – scandium and aluminum can not accommodate its awesome power. Second, only use this ammo for hunting boar, deer, or other very large game. It’s pretty much guaranteed to pass right through a human-sized threat!

This round’s potency doesn’t just come from its hot propellant charge. Its 305 grain bullet is made of hard cast lead, which is substantially more resilient than usual and poised to retain its form even as it splinters through heavy bone. This bullet’s flat nose profile is by design: Unlike a round nose, it is far less likely to let bone or tissue redirect its course. Thanks to that, this bullet consistently penetrates in a straight line to depths greater than three feet. And due to its hard lead construction and gas check, this is an especially clean-shooting bullet as well.

Buffalo Bore recommends this heavy revolver or lever-action round for game weighing up to 1,000 pounds. Please note that its muzzle velocity increases substantially in a rifle. Whereas the 1,328 fps muzzle velocity was recorded from a 6” barrel, its MV increases to 1,779 fps from a rifle’s 18.5” barrel. Its muzzle energy accordingly becomes nearly 2,150 ft lbs!
