This 380 Auto cartridge by PMC features its South Korean manufacturer’s 95 grain Starfire projectile, which uniquely possesses a patented rib and flute hollow cavity design. Upon impact the notched jacket peels away to produce five pointed copper petals -- hence the “star” in its name. As the bullet expands the ribs in its cavity wall are forced apart, causing incredibly rapid expansion of its core down its entire length. This exposes the ribs even further, letting them effectively cut whatever organic material they’d penetrate through. The effect is a bullet with devastating stopping power, and also one which poses less risk of overpenetration which even further suits it for self-defense.
