Remington Ammunition 165 Grain Pointed Soft-Point (PSP) Ammo Details

This 30-06 cartridge by Remington features a 165 grain Core-Lokt pointed soft point projectile. The bullet takes its name from the slight indentation around its jacket which locks it to its core, making the two far more inseparable during penetration for superior weight retention. The Core-Lokt’s jacket is designed to promote reliable expansion up to double the bullet’s original diameter, which is initiated as soon as the exposed core at the tip makes contact with a soft target.

This is an accurate bullet as well. A pointed soft point’s streamlined shape is aerodynamic by nature, and this bullet’s spitzer profile further flattens its trajectory and increases its velocity. That this bullet’s jacket envelopes its core further enables it to stave off deformation during ignition.

The Core-Lokt’s design has endured ever since its introduction over 75 years ago. The bullet’s staying power (and stopping power) is well accompanied by Remington’s other high quality components, each a testament to how America’s oldest firearm company has been able to do business for over two centuries.

Nothing but good things to say about this round. Have shot many different types out of my Savage Axis with the Nikon Prostaff BDC optic w/ vortex rings but this one gave me the best warm and fuzzy with my groups at 100yrds, roughly 1.5" give or take a bit. I'm not a sniper I'm a hunter, I just need to know I can land a kill shot at any given distance with my chosen round. This fall on opening day rifle season in Maine I harvested a 6pt white tail at 118 yards. I had a through and through heart shot, he went about 10 yards and flipped over dead as a door nail. Upon cleaning the deer it looked like a grenade went off in his heart. Very ethical round and I trust it 100% to take down any game in north America. I would highly recommend it for any medium to large game.
