This 30-06 round by Hornady is crowned with its manufacturer’s 165 grain SST (Super Shock Tip) projectile. The SST boasts an excellent ballistic coefficient courtesy of its secant ogive profile and tapered base; It accordingly creates comparatively less drag in flight and offers a flatter trajectory and greater energy to convey on impact. The SST’s pointed polymer tip doesn’t harm its aerodynamic profile either, and it also acts to commence rapid expansion upon impact.
