20rds – 300 HAM'R Remington Core-Lokt 130gr. PSP Ammo

Remington Ammunition 130 Grain Pointed Soft-Point (PSP) Ammo Details

The 300 HAM’R is named after the tool: a striking instrument noted for its power. It’s OK if you thought its name was a nod to its utility for hog hunting. I thought the same thing at first.

Whether it’s hog, deer, black bear, or some other medium game that doesn’t immediately come to mind that you’re hunting, you’ve found just the right 300 HAM’R ammo for the job. Remington has spent over 80 years refining the Core-Lokt soft point projectile. So long as you aim right – and you’re close enough – it’ll be the last thing your quarry ever feels.

This round’s loaded with a 130 grain pointed soft point, specifically. The .30 caliber’s bullet substantial weight, streamlined nose, and overall balance grant it 0.248 G1 BC. It therefore holds on to 1,000 ft lbs of energy at 151 yards, if Remington’s reported 2,340 fps muzzle velocity holds true.

The Core-Lokt PSP is named after its defining feature: the way that its jacket extends within and is effectively “locked” into its lead core. That assures higher weight retention, so the PSP can plunge and tumbler deeper into the quarry whilst simultaneously letting lose deadly expansion. Works great!
