Liberty Ammunition makes their OverWatch series 300 Blackout ammunition for one and only application: personal preservation. It’s loaded to deliver low recoil, high velocity performance, and massive cavitation within the target.This round’s bullet isn’t extremely light at 96 grains because it’s abnormally small. It’s just made entirely out of copper, with zero dense lead weighing it down. Its monolithic design allows the bullet to clear muzzle at 2,500 fps velocity. That’s not just supersonic. It’s faster than Mach 2.
The open cavity bullet reaches a close-quarters target with more than 1,000 ft lbs of kinetic energy. That kind of force is absolutely ruinous when applied to the center of mass. But the bullet doesn’t just hit hard. Its tough copper construction and open nose cavity follow up impact by creating a deep and broad permanent wound column. In other words, the light bullet is not to be taken lightly.
