Hornady calls this cartridge’s 100 grain jacketed hollow point the Flex Tip eXpanding. You’ll immediately notice that the bullet’s nose cavity contains crimson polymer, which serves an important purpose: prevent the nose cavity from becoming obstructed with debris that could have impaired its ability to commence wide terminal expansion within soft tissue. The FTX’s jacket wears multiple notches that guide uniform outward expansion, and it also shields the nose cavity’s rim to promote more reliable feeding and barrier penetration.

This ammo’s new brass cases are plated with nickel. The metal is shiny for added visibility in the chamber, low-friction for smoother feeding and extraction, and corrosion resistant to boot.
