The Deer Season XP line was expressly designed for hunters who want to stock the freezer and mount huge racks on their trophy walls! Each of these .270 Winchester Short Magnum cartridges features a reloadable brass casing, a clean-igniting Boxer primer, and Winchester's own ballistic tip projectile. The bullet design features a copper jacket wrapped around a lead-alloy core which has been especially formulated to facilitate proper "squashing" and energy transfer. The head of the bullet is fitted with a large diameter polymer tip which not only serves as a windshield for reduced drag but enhances penetration for increased lethality.

Upon impact, the polymer tip rapidly initiates wide expansion in order to create a large wound tract in vital zones. This 130 grain .270 WSM projectile is also equipped with base band cannelure which locks the outer jacket to the inner core and preserves the momentum needed to drop mule deer and black bears without over-penetration.
