This cartridge is loaded with Hornady’s world-famous Extremely Low Drag - eXpanding projectile. True to its name, the ELD-X is all about minimizing drag, which it does with its deformation-proof Heat Shield polymer tip, highly concentric Advanced Manufacturing Process jacket, optimized boat tail angulation, and secant ogive jacket profile. The bullet owes its 0.536 G1/0.270 G7 BC (out of a 24” test barrel) to these features, and should only drop -6.5” 100 yards downrange of a 200-yard goose egg as a result.

The ELD-X doesn’t just slip through the air unchallenged. It also kills, because its Heat Shield tip initiates catastrophic terminal expansion. And thanks to its InterLock ring, the ELD-X reliably conserves at least half of its weight following high-velocity impact within 400 yards. Reach out farther than that, and weight retention should be no lower than 85%.
