This 270 Win cartridge from Hornady’s Outfitter line of ammunition is capped off with a 130 grain GMX projectile. If you hunt in California, you’ll be relieved to know that this round’s copper alloy bullet won’t earn you any fines at the end of the day. The monolithic GMX is great for hunting anywhere, however, as it renders the problem of core and jacket separation irrelevant. Because of this it can retain 95 percent or more of its weight as it burrows deep within game targets, expanding up to 1.5 times its original diameter as it does so. Furthermore, the GMX fouls very little, letting you preserve your accuracy in the field.An Outfitter round is a rugged one thanks to its nickel plated brass casing. This lets it resist corrosion marvelously, and it also cycles very smoothly. This cartridge’s case mouth and primer are both waterproofed, so even a sopping rain won’t make you any less effective when you finally get a buck in your crosshairs.
