This 270 Win cartridge by Federal showcases Berger’s state of the art Hybrid Hunter projectile, which provides its shooter with the combined advantages of the secant ogive and tangent ogive profiles but neither of their shortcomings. The Hybrid Hunter’s secant ogive shape measurably improves its ballistic coefficient, so it is able to maintain a flat trajectory, better ignore the effects of wind drift, and retain greater velocity downrange so that it can inflict more energy upon impact. Its tangent ogive shape improves performance by better aligning the bullet with the riflings of a rifle’s bore. Those benefits combined with the Hybrid Hunter’s efficacious hollow point nose cavity translate to the accuracy and lethal terminal performance that a successful hunting season simply can’t do without.This cartridge has Federal’s own brass casing, which is plated with nickel to grant it superior resistance to corrosion as well as the ability to feed and eject like a charm.
