Black Hills Ammunition 95 Grain Polymer Tipped Ammo Details

This 243 Win cartridge represents an exciting team up of two of America’s foremost ammunition manufacturers. As a Black Hills round its components are top notch, and evince in every way just why the South Dakotan company has earned the most prestigious private and military clients that it is possible for them have to. Paired with Hornady’s 95 grain SST (Super Shock Tip) projectile, it’s an absolute marvel.

The SST is a highly accurate bullet thanks not only to its ballistically efficient secant ogive profile, but also its boat tail base and tapered point. Upon impact the SST’s polymer tip drives inward to initiate rapid expansion, made particularly potent because it is perched upon the jacket’s rim and extends downward into a cavity within the core. The SST is able to retain the weight needed to penetrate deeply within game thanks to the InterLock ring which binds its core and jacket together, and its mid-body cannelure helps to that end a great deal as well.
