This round’s accuracy and terminal ballistics are both superlative when it comes to dispatching rodents and predators, but with the right aim it can easily topple pigs and even smaller deer!This cartridge is loaded with Sierra’s 64 grain Tipped GameKing bullet. The TGK has comparable accuracy to the legendary MatchKing courtesy of its hyper-concentric copper jacket and optimally angled boat tail. Its 0.323 G1 ballistic coefficient means that the 64 grain TGK reaches 200 yards in a mere 0.221 seconds, and inflicts 850 ft lbs of energy on arrival.
The TGK has a polymer tip where the MatchKing has none. This streamlines the bullet for more accurate flight, but it also drives inward on impact to yield rapid and deadly expansion. Its dense lead alloy core and resilient jacket also equip the TGK to penetrate impressively deeply for a 223 Rem bullet!
Sierra loads their GameChanger label ammo in Sedalia, Missouri with match brass, primers and powder. (A 1:8 barrel twist is optimal for a 64 grain bullet, although you will still hit your target with a 1:9 or 1:7 twist.)
