20rds – 22 Creedmoor Hornady V-Match 69gr. ELD-VT Ammo
Hornady Ammunition 69 Grain ELD-VT Ammo Details
Vermont is a nice place. Lots of apple cider and maple syrup there, and an amazing hippie-to-redneck ratio, too. We recommend going – unless you already are there, in which case please stay. Why do we bring up Vermont? Because the state has nothing to do with this 22 Creedmoor cartridge’s ELD-VT projectile. In this case, “VT” stands for “Varmint,” which is what you really ought to be hunting with Hornady V-Match ammunition (made in NE; also a nice place).
Everyone likes big, explosive terminal performance on varmints (with the exception of varmints themselves). The ELD-VT, which features Hornady’s new-and-improved Heat Shield tip (featuring Drag Variability Reduction Technology, for less dispersion and greater drag uniformity). But the Heat Shield’s not just there to streamline the ELD-VT’s Advanced Manufacturing Process jacket. It is also there to pull the pin on fast, fragmenting expansion the instant it connects with varmint.
“ELD” stands for “Extremely Low Drag,” and the 69 grain ELD-VT does deliver on that front as well. The bullet overcomes frontal air resistance so effectively that it conserves at least one half of its velocity until almost 900 yards (0.214 G7 BC) – a distance to which it also carries over 450 ft lbs of raw force!
