This round’s bullet is the jewel of Nebraska: Hornady’s very own ELD-X, which marries match accuracy with lethal terminal ballistics. The bullet’s 0.485 G1 BC reflects its ability to retain 70% of its velocity at 500 yards – a feat it pulls off courtesy of its runoff-free AMP jacket, sleek boat tail and secant ogive profile, and Heat Shield polymer tip (which cannot and will not deform in response to aerodynamic heating).

The ELD-X is a tough nut to crack. Its InterLock ring ensures that it loses no more than half of its weight if it strikes its target within 400 yards. If it lands on a deer beyond that distance, then you can trust the ELD-X to lose no more than 15% of itself to fragmentation. And thanks to its tip, nose cavity, and thin jacket mouth, the ELD-X is capable of massive expansion at surprisingly low velocities!
