The 9mm is an effective tool for dealing with threats to your personal safety. But what about threats to your personal property: your siding, your bird seed, your garbage, and so on? For dealing with the small and skittery critters that like to gnaw on your stuff, we recommend this cartridge by CCI!

This round is loaded with 45 grains of #4 shot -- about 14 pellets total. The orange plastic capsule that holds the payload shatters on ignition, allowing your handgun to spray a tight cone of lead death at rats and other unlikable critters. With this round’s 1,000 fps muzzle velocity, each 0.13” pellet has a muzzle energy of about 7 ft lbs. That doesn’t sound huge on paper, but the cumulative effect is impressive!

This round is aluminum cased and Berdan primed, making its price tag all the more friendly. Your semi-auto may have trouble cycling on its own with so small a projectile to work with, and a ported barrel or compensator has no business handing shot like this round’s.
