This round’s 168 grain projectile is an open tip. Its thin and extremely concentric jacket optimizes its rotational stability. So too does its form-fitted lead core. The open tip’s flat base promotes more consistent ignition by giving exploding propellant a clean, level surface to exert its energy against.
An open tip cannot deliver terminal expansion and is not suitable for taking game larger than varmints. It’s all about accuracy, which it supplies in spades thanks to its 0.332 G1 ballistic coefficient. Zero in at 200 yards, and you’ll observe a trajectory that doesn’t rise above the bore by more than 2.32”. This ammo’s smooth-chambering reloadable brass cases, match grade Boxer primers and clean-burning powder only do more to ensure real satisfying performance with every squeeze.
