This 308 Win cartridge is from Hornady’s Match line of ammunition, and it offers the accuracy and precision you would need to win competitive shooting events courtesy of its 155 grain open tip match projectile. While still molten, this bullet’s core was poured into place during its manufacturing process. As the result its weight is practically perfectly uniformly distributed. The opening in the bullet’s tip provided passage for said molten core, and does not serve to facilitate expansion during penetration. Such a meplat does grant improved resistance to wind deflection, however. This bullet further features a cannelure to prevent setback during feeding.
