Hornady Ammunition 150 Grain Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) Ammo Details

M1 Garand operating rods aren’t cheap. If you break one by firing hot commercial hunting ammo in the antique rifle, then you’re in for well over $100 in damage.

Even worse than that expense will be your bruised pride. You were given the responsibility of preserving an M1 Garand – and failed.

Don’t live with all the ramifications of irresponsible ammo selection. If you want to fire your M1 Garand the right way, choose Hornady’s own 30-06 Springfield M2 ball ammo for the job.

Normal 30-06 ammo? SAAMI max pressure 60,000 psi. M2 ball 30-06 ammo? SAAMI max pressure 50,000 psi. That kind of action is sufficiently gentle on the M1 Garand’s operating rod, and also gives the 150 grain (nonmagnetic, nonexpanding) full metal jacket bullet a perfectly serviceable muzzle velocity of 2,740 fps.

This ammo is new. It’s loaded with new cases, if you can believe it, and those cases are indeed reloadable!
