This 8mm Mauser cartridge is military surplus straight from the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. A healthy dose of political and social unrest removed Yugoslavia from the map in 1992, but even a full-blown civil war couldn’t exhaust the country’s supply of military ammunition. We have a great deal of it, and we would like you to have some too.

This is an M49 ball cartridge, the standard infantry round of the Yugoslav National Army. Its 198 grain bullet is acceptable for use during international warfare, but we assume you’ll prefer it for its smooth feeding and clean shooting nature. This cartridge features a brass casing, although its European Berdan primer will likely prevent you from reloading it. This round is furthermore corrosive -- not a black eye in terms of its performance, although you will want to scrub your rifle out a bit more thoroughly than you might normally!
