This 12 Gauge shotshell from Winchester’s Long Beard XR line of ammunition takes a novel and effective approach to turkey hunting: Shot-Lok technology. Were you to cut this shell in half, you’d be left with a column of copper plated #4 shot suspended in clear resin. Upon ignition, that resin disintegrates completely to buffer its contents exceptionally well. As the result the shot doesn’t deform when it hits the wad and barrel, and is therefore to maintain its sphericity for an absolutely tight as can be spread upon exiting the muzzle.

The effect of Shot-Lok is palpable. With it you’ll get double as many pellets as you’d normally expect through a 10” ring from a distance of 60 yards.
