Tula Ammo 122 Grain Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) Ammo Details
You want to take advantage of Tula’s cost-effective steel cased 7.62x39 ammo at your favorite indoor range, but that range won’t let you shoot magnetic rounds. It’s not the steel case which the range typically finds offensive, but the bullet itself. Tula normally cuts down on their manufacturing costs by implementing a bimetal jacket which contains steel. Finally, there is a solution to this dilemma – this 7.62x39 cartridge features a completely steel-free bullet! Tula uses upcycled brass to make the 122 grain FMJ’s jacket, so it won’t attract a magnet. This bullet is considerably safer to fire indoors, as brass is much less likely than steel to create sparks, ricochet, or damage range equipment. And it still offers reliable feeding and target grade accuracy at a muzzle velocity of 2,330 fps!
This round’s price tag remains nice and comfy thanks to Tula’s signature steel shell casing. Steel is of course non-reloadable, especially when it has a Berdan primer. But Tula’s polymer coating does facilitate smoother functionality, and their modern Berdan primer doesn’t contain any corrosive elements like an outdated milsurp one might have. The perfect way to fire an AK-47 and follow all the rules!
