Red Army Standard 122 Grain Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) Ammo Details
A lot of shooters have to pass on Russia’s steel cased ammo. They could have enjoyed its lower price tag, but the magnetic bullets it is commonly loaded with get it banned from many indoor ranges. Fortunately Red Army Standard offers this 7.62x39 ammo, which is identical to their usual steel cased stuff with one important difference: Its bullets are nonmagnetic! This cartridge features a 122 grain bullet with an all-brass jacket and solid lead core. Neither of those nonferrous metals can attract a magnet, so your rangemaster will give it the all-clear. This ammo’s cases are still steel, so they’re not suitable for reloading and will cause relatively more fouling in a rifle’s action, but you just can’t beat the savings steel cases represent. And rugged AK-47s pretty much don’t care at all when you pump these rounds’ polymer-coated cases through their chambers.
This isn’t military surplus that has been sitting in deep storage since the late ‘40s. It is new production, made in Russia and imported by Century International Arms, with noncorrosive primers and low residue propellant. Enjoy this ammo at the indoor range soon, or order a case just in case!
