Red Army Standard 122 Grain Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) Ammo Details
If copper were only useful for making shell casings, then brass cased ammo wouldn’t be as expensive. Unfortunately copper is valuable for making a variety of necessary things, such as wiring and Moscow mule mugs. This 7.62x39 cartridge by Red Army Standard features a steel casing, so its price tag won’t demand that you shoot less. This Russian-made round from the Tula Cartridge Plant has a casing that sports a thin layer of polymer. That protects it against rusting while it’s sitting in storage, and additionally reduces friction during cycling in order to prevent a jam that would interrupt the action. Red Army Standard’s 122 grain bullet is a full metal jacket. It doesn’t do anything extra during penetration of a soft target, which isn’t to say it will do said soft target any favors. Select an FMJ round for the range and you’ll be in good shape.
This cartridge features a non-corrosive Berdan primer and clean burning propellant, so you won’t have to clean your rifle so frequently in order to preserve its accuracy.
