This cartridge is loaded with a 158 grain bullet, which picks up an 850 fps muzzle velocity before clearing a 4” vented barrel. That’s overpressure performance, which means you absolutely mustn’t fire this ammo in a revolver that isn’t rated for +P (lever-action rifles are just fine).

The total metal jacket does have a conventional lead core. But because the nonmagnetic bullet’s gilding metal jacket completely covers the base of its core, hot propellant gasses will not vaporize any lead upon ignition. Better yet, this ammo’s Clean-Fire primers do not contain lead, barium or antimony – all metals that you don’t want inside your lungs!

This ammo features Blazer’s signature heat-treated aircraft-grade aluminum cases. They’re cheaper than brass cases, but take care: you do not want to waste your time trying to reload aluminum. Blazer actually loads this ammo with Berdan primers (which have two flash holes instead of the usual one) just to serve as a reminder that it’s not meant to be reloaded.
