This bulk pack of .17 HMR rounds from Winchester will give you accurate zeroing and maxed out bag limits for many small game seasons to come. These high velocity cartridges are built using brass rimfire casings which are primed with a non-corrosive ignition mixture and filled with a clean-burning powder. Each round is topped with a V-MAX projectile from Hornady which possesses a deep hollow cavity that is mostly taken up by a polymer tip. This design gives the 17 grain bullet unfailing drag resistance, unmatched precision, and explosive terminal effect on target.
Upon impact with a game animal the polymer tip is pressed back into the hollow cavity which promotes rapid fragmentation of the swaged lead core and copper jacket; this visits appropriate damage upon prairie dogs, armadillos, and other varmints resulting in quick, humane drops with no over-penetration. These rounds are rated for a 2,550 feet-per-second muzzle velocity which is consistent with Hornady's original field-proven profile.
