The generation 3 PMAG from Magpul enhances a proven, reliable design with some excellent features which were developed via user feedback over the years. Each magazine holds thirty rounds of .223 Remington, 5.56x45mm, or .300 AAC Blackout and ensures seamless feeding via an anti-tilt, self-lubricating follower which travels along a track with consistent curvature. The magazine body is made entirely of strong, lightweight polymer that can withstand impact and even being run over by a heavy military vehicle.

The Gen 3 PMAG is STANAG 4179 compliant and will function in standard ARs,the FN SCAR16s, and the HK416 while maintaining compatibility with a number of speed-loaders. New additions to the design include a paint pen dot matrix for identification and an over-travel stop on the spine; this nonobstructive bump prevents a shooter from aggressively over-inserting a magazine during a reload which could cause malfunctions or parts breakage. The magazine's floorplate is easily removed for cleaning or replacement with other accessories.
