500rds – 40 S&W Winchester Ranger 135gr. Frangible Ammo

Winchester Ammunition 135 Grain Frangible Ammo Details

Winchester designed this 40 S&W cartridge to give law enforcement professionals a safer, lead-free solution for target practice. If you too would like a safer, lead-free solution for target practice, then you’ll be happy to know Winchester’s Ranger line of ammunition is available to the general public as well!

This ammo owes its safer, lead-free performance to its 135 grain frangible projectile. The bullet is made of a blend of copper and tin particles, so the heat of ignition cannot vaporize lead that will cake your bore and infiltrate your lungs.

When the frangible bullet hits a steel target or other hard surface, it will crumble apart into lightweight dust and fragments. That virtually eliminates the chance of splash-back that could send you scrambling for the first aid kit. And because of its aforementioned lack of lead, a frangible bullet will not scatter lead particles into the air on impact!

Winchester loads their frangible bullets with new brass cases, which are Boxer-primed and reloadable. This ammo’s lighter bullet and lower muzzle velocity will treat you to relatively gentle recoil for the 40 S&W!
