Federal Ammunition 38 Grain Copper-Plated Hollow-Point (CPHP) Ammo Details

Think of Federal’s Range & Field Packs as two halves of the same yin yang. On one side, you’ve got 22 LR rounds with the 40 grain LRN bullets that are perfect for perforating paper and plinking targets; on the other, rounds with 38 grain CPHP bullets that make short work of varmints (this load). The two cartridges perform just like one another, so training with the LRN is going to give you a great feel for the CPHP. Perfect synergy!

This round is the Field type. Its bullet is clothed in copper plating to keep a firearm’s bore unadulterated by lead residue, very nice if you’re planning a lengthy squirrel hunting expedition that’ll take you far from home base. The bullet’s nose cavity lends itself to wide expansion -- no squirrel is mighty enough to tank that kind of wound channel and keep on squirreling. Federal makes great rimfire primers and little brass casings, so you can trust this round to carry you through even the most dangerous squirrel hunt you’ll ever have.
