Steel is not toxic, however, which is why Federal’s Upland Steel series 12 Gauge ammunition is a great way to conserve the environment while simultaneously removing birds from it. This shell’s 1oz. charge of #7.5 shot won’t just prevent pollution, either. It patterns with outstanding efficiency courtesy of the hard pellets’ inability to deform, and the relatively lighter pellets still pack ample punch thanks to the shell’s lickety-split 1,330 fps muzzle velocity.

The eco-friendly features don’t end with the steel shot. This ammo is loaded with paper wads – still perfectly effective at patterning shot through a variety of chokes, but also due to decompose pretty quickly once they land on the ground.
