This 7mm Mauser (7x57mm) ammunition features progressive propellants that send the 139 grain SST (Super Shock Tip) projectile to a performance level previously unattainable. And Hornady achieves this without increasing felt recoil, muzzle blast, temperature sensitivity, or barrel fouling. Each round achieves a muzzle velocity of 2760 feet per second and produces 2351 foot pounds of muzzle energy.

SST projectiles are designed to produce a disastrous lethal shock wave upon target impact while delivering rapid and reliable expansion. These proprietary bullets are especially effective at producing terminal results at the higher velocities produced by Superformance progressive powders.

The SST design also features Hornady’s exclusive InterLock ring which mechanically locks the copper jacket to the lead alloy core during expansion. The result is increased weight retention, explosive energy transfer, and deep soft tissue penetration.
