Don’t take a look at this American-made 223 Rem ammo’s hollow point bullets and assume it’s meant for hunting! We wouldn’t want to be the prairie dog on the receiving end of this round’s 69 grain hollow point boat tail because we like being alive, but the MatchKing is designed only for accuracy and not terminal expansion.

Why is Sierra’s MatchKing so darn accurate? Each bullet in this box of 20 rounds weighs within ±0.3 grains of one another, has a jacket drawn to a concentricity standard of ±0.0003 in maximum variation, and features a low-drag boat tail. The MatchKing’s narrow nose profile includes an opening because molten lead was injected through it at Sierra’s factory in Sedalia, MO, which gives it virtually perfect in-flight rotational stability.

All of these features come together to give this round’s MatchKing a G1 ballistic coefficient of 0.301. The bullet’s trajectory will only have to rise by about 2.27” if you zero in at 200 yards, and it will drop to -9.64” at 300 yards. (That’s all assuming your sight height is 1.5”.) In fewer words, the MatchKing is a true true tack driver.

Fiocchi loads their Hyperformance ammo in Ozark, MO with premium brass cases, match Boxer primers and low-fouling propellant. Use it for competition or pulling off trick shots – but once again, do not use it for self-defense or hunting medium game!
