200rds – 38 Special +P Federal Punch 120gr. JHP Ammo

200rds – 38 Special +P Federal Punch 120gr. JHP Ammo Details

Don’t punch the threat. Punch them – with Federal Premium’s Punch ammunition! This 38 Special +P ammo is priced a little friendlier because it’s not engineered for law enforcement applications, but it’s still equipped to turn your revolver into an effective tool for self-preservation.

An overpressure round like this amplifies a 38 Special revolver’s muzzle velocity: 1,000 fps out of a 4” test barrel’s muzzle. The bullet flies flatter and strikes its target with relatively greater kinetic energy as a result. Just exercise caution, as this ammo will cause firearm damage and pose a chance of injuring the shooter if it is fired in an older 38 Spl firearm that isn’t rated for +P. Safe for all 357 Mag firearms, though!

The 120 grain jacketed hollow point bullet’s jacket wears multiple skives. These selectively weaken the jacket to ensure that it fans out widely and uniformly while the nose cavity fills with pressurized soft tissue. Sealed primers are always a plus for self-defense ammo – they prevent moisture from accessing the sensitive propellant.

Great choice. I tested these with a 2 inch barrel revolver in wetpack. Absolutely perfect textbook expansion and a decent sized hole. Penetration was about 10 inches or so. Recoil was light. I have since bought the Punch brand in 9mm and 40 as well. I would definitely buy again and carry every day.
