Lake City 660 Grain Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) Ammo Details

In business since 1941 and now stretching across 3,935 acres, the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in Independence, MO is the outfit to look to when you wish to enjoy your range session with the aid of military-grade ammo. Case in point: these high quality 50 BMG rounds, made with intensely uniform components and subjected to one of the most scrutinous quality assurance protocols known to the industry.

These M33 cartridges sport 660 grain projectiles -- lighter than the original M2 rounds’, and accordingly able to issue out of the muzzle at a breakneck 2,910 fps velocity. The bullets’ full metal jackets don’t permit them to expand during penetration, yet their enormous heft ought to be more than adequate to devastate any target one could strike. Please note that the M33 bullet’s core is made of soft steel rather than traditional lead, making these rounds unfit for use at ranges which ban magnetic projectiles.

Lake City’s ammo must deliver under even the most hostile conditions, so these rounds’ supporting components don’t let down. Supple brass casings seal the chamber fully during ignition and hold up over the course of repeated reloadings, and sensitive primers dependably translate the strokes of a firing pin into ignition.

Decent shape, but lots of surface corrosion on the casings. Cleaned up nicely with a Scotchbrite pad, but it takes a while.
