Browning 40 Grain Copper-Plated Hollow-Point (CPHP) Ammo Details

What are a squirrel’s three favorite words? “Seeds and nuts.” But what are a squirrel’s three least favorite words? “Browning Performance Rimfire!”

This 22 LR cartridge is equipped with the bane of rodents and small game: the 40 grain copper-plated hollow point. Its plated exterior serves to reduce lead fouling in the barrel, so a firearm can stay accurate for longer in between cleanings. This round gives its bullet a considerable amount of velocity – 1,435 fps out of a rifle’s long barrel, which is all it needs to exhibit a flat, easy to aim trajectory. And once the bullet’s hollow point nose cavity fills up with soft tissue, it responds by commencing rapid, deadly terminal expansion.

Although optimized for varmint hunting, this round’s bullet is just as happy to plow into paper and plinking targets. It’s seated in a straight brass case that is headstamped with Browning’s famous stag logo, and sent along its way via a non-corrosive rimfire primer and charge of clean-burning propellant to even further lessen the need for frequent cleaning.
