This cartridge has a 125 grain bullet, which will achieve a muzzle velocity of 1,350 fps out of a handgun’s 4” barrel. Federal’s Personal Defense HST series 357 Sig 125 grain JHP ammo has a muzzle velocity of 1,360 fps, which makes the American Eagle ammo a perfect solution for realistic training if you prefer the HST loads for personal protection.
This cartridge is loaded with a flat nose full metal jacket. The bullet’s semi-conic profile promotes reliable feeding in a semi-automatic handgun, as well as comparable ballistic performance to that of a JHP. The bullet’s lack of any steel makes it completely nonmagnetic.
