50rds – 38 Special Federal American Eagle Indoor Range Training 100gr. Lead Free Ammo Details

We’re not health nuts here at Ammo To Go. We eat our fair share of jelly donuts, because they are good. But even we know that lead is bad for your health. If you’re looking to minimize your exposure to the toxic heavy metal – and enjoy rewarding target practice with your 38 Special revolver while you’re at it – then Federal American Eagle Indoor Range Training has your number.

This cartridge features the Lead Free IRT projectile. Hot ignition won’t burn any lead off of it. High-velocity impact with a solid surface does not produce toxic airborne particles. Federal says the Lead Free IRT is designed to be just as safe (or even safer) than a normal FMJ when it hits a hard target. In other words, this bullet is not frangible; it will not crumble into dust when it hits steel or concrete. That means it rings a gong louder, but it can also bite you with splash-back at close range.

This round’s muzzle velocity is 960 fps. It is loaded to standard pressure. Its bullet is just lightweight at 100 grains because it is unencumbered by dense lead. Speaking of lead, this ammo’s Catalyst primers are 100% lead-free as well. The Boxer-style primers’ conventional flash holes make this new brass-cased training ammunition reloadable, too!
