This 17 HMR hunting round by CCI features the 17 grain VNT by Speer. It’s a bullet that offers the perfect combination of tack driving accuracy and calamitous terminal performance that you need to make varmints beg for mercy.

CCI amped this round’s muzzle velocity up to 2,650 fps – significantly faster than most other 17 grain 17 HMR loads on the market. The sleek VNT achieves a ballistic coefficient of 0.125 at that velocity, allowing it to hug a pretty flat trajectory as it retains 75 percent of its speed at 100 yards.

At that range the VNT slaps its target with nearly 150 ft lbs of raw energy. Rather than pass through a rodent or other small quarry, the VNT’s tip plunges into its nose cavity to send the lead core and copper jacket fragmenting apart in every direction. The effect is comparable to that of a teeny-tiny grenade.
