For the price, #4 Rio isn't bad. Ran a few hundred through my 870 during a Practical Shotgun class, and had a single sticky extraction. Issue was minor, just had to muscle it a bit. Otherwise, good to go in rough conditions. <br />

Pattern isn't exactly tight, but not as big as I figured it would be either. Will begin to open by 15 yards or so. Fairly concentric and uniform. Viable home defense load assuming #4 fits your needs, especially for the price. -

This ammo is a good deal for the money. The 21 pellet load has a little less recoil than the 27 pellet load. They have a fairly tight pattern at longer ranges. All of the bad reviews are from the Mossberg 500? My Remington 870 will still hold a full magazine capacity even due to the shells being 3". No jams, duds, or any problems with a 870.

I bought this ammo for my Saiga 12 shotgun and it loads and extracts perfectly using the factory 5 round magazine and the 10 round AGP mags. Best bang for your buck out there right now for buckshot. At 15 yards every pellet hit the target with a 12-15" spread.

This ammo is perfectly fine. All 21 pellets fit onto a piece of computer paper at 40 feet from my 18 1/2 in barrel. Fed just fine in my 870. GREAT AMMO.
