This shell’s shot column tips the scale at one ounce. That’s a little lighter than the 1-1/8 ounce shot column typically favored for target shooting, but it helps to offset the recoil energy generated by the shell’s fast 1,378 fps muzzle velocity. The target load’s muzzle velocity is about 100 fps faster than usual for good reason: low-density steel loses momentum faster than lead, but more speed helps to compensate for that shortcoming! This shell’s #7 shot pellets are also a little larger than usual, but that only makes them a heavier to give them even more in-flight momentum – and a longer effective range because of it!

This shell features a hinged wad. It collapses during ignition to further mitigate recoil, and its full-length shot cup won’t let abrasive steel shot pellets damage your barrel.
