This is a relatively long 12 Gauge shotshell at three and a half inches, but it doesn’t owe the heft of the shot that it contains to its hull’s internal capacity alone. It’s loaded with #3 steel Hex Shot, which true to its name is six sided like a gambler’s die. That lets it stack far more neatly in a hull than spherical shot could, giving you 15 percent more pellets to fire than a comparable shell could provide.

Hex Shot’s stackability isn’t its only benefit. The nature of its cubic shape means that it has 12 cutting edges, so it delivers massive impact trauma to create a wide, deep, debilitating wound channel that only ducks wearing little Kevlar vests could have any hope of flying away from.

This shell features a special diamond cut wad, which works in conjunction with its special Hex Shot to increase the effective zone of its spread by up to 25 percent. It’s a safe shell to bring to the wetlands as well thanks to its Drylock Super Steel System, which seals out moisture to keep its special shot, sensitive primer, and clean burning propellant intact.
